According to the Nevada state law, all motorists applying for vehicle registration are required to have valid vehicle liability insurance. Car Insurance Policy Requirements in the Nevada
Nevada law mandates that every automobile insurance policy sold in the state must have these minimum coverages:
- $25,000 for bodily injury or death of one person in any one accident
- $50,000 for bodily injury or death of two or more persons on any one accident
- $20,000 for injury to or destruction of property of others in any one accident
Penalties and Violations
If you are caught driving without insurance in Nevada, you can be fined $600 to $1000. You may also have your license and/or registration suspended, have your plates confiscated and have your vehicle impounded. If you were cited for no insurance and you are convicted, you will be subject to a driver license suspension. You will have to reinstate your driver license and carry SR-22 insurance coverage.
